That’s why we’re excited to host and formally invite you to our Volunteer Opportunities Fair: A Building Community Event on Saturday, May 17, from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM.
This event is a unique chance for nonprofits to connect with passionate volunteers and for individuals to discover meaningful ways to give back. Whether you’re looking to lend your time, share your skills, or simply learn more about local organizations making a difference, the Volunteer Opportunities Fair is the place to start.
“As a mission-driven community, we believe that volunteering is the heart of a thriving community,” said Phil Jean, CEO of Piper Shores. “Our Volunteer Opportunities Fair is designed to connect individuals with local nonprofits, fostering meaningful relationships that enrich both our community and the lives of those who give their time.”
For residents like Betty Perry and her husband, Duncan, volunteering has played an essential role in building relationships and giving back. “Volunteering has been a meaningful part of our lives—it’s helped us build relationships and give back to the community that gives so much to us,” said Betty, a Piper Shores resident since 2013. “We’ve always believed in giving back, both to Piper Shores and the larger community, and we found that opportunity here.”
What to Expect
The Volunteer Opportunities Fair will feature a diverse array of nonprofit exhibitors, each dedicated to making a positive impact in the Greater Portland area. You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Meet representatives from a variety of organizations focused on causes like environmental conservation, food security, senior support, education, animal welfare, and more.
- Find the perfect volunteer opportunity that aligns with your interests, skills, and schedule.
- Network with like-minded individuals who share your passion for giving back.
- Win exciting door prizes throughout the day!
The event is free and open to the public, and all are welcome to attend.
Calling All Nonprofits: Reserve Your Spot!
For local nonprofits, this event is a fantastic opportunity to recruit volunteers, expand your reach, and connect with community members eager to support your mission. Each exhibitor will receive:
- Complimentary 6’ x 6’ exhibit space (table and chairs included)
- Exposure through Piper Shores’ community-wide outreach efforts
- A chance to engage with potential volunteers from the Greater Portland community and Piper Shores’ 450+ residents
