Piper Shores CEO Philip Jean Honored with ACHCA Chair Award for Exceptional Leadership and Service

Piper Shores is pleased to announce that the CEO Philip Jean has been awarded the Chair Award from the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) Chair of the Board. Phil earned this award after he went above and beyond in a national volunteer committee to improve the association and manage a large-scale transition.

“Phil Jean has been an invaluable asset to ACHCA, treating his role like a part-time job,” said Matthew Lessard, Chair of the Board of ACHCA, who gave Phil the award. “His dedication, knowledge, and resources have significantly contributed to establishing the direction of our association. Phil’s outstanding leadership and commitment to bettering the profession have truly set him apart. His reaction to receiving the ACHCA Chair Award, marked by genuine shock and humility, speaks volumes about his character. He never sought recognition; he simply did what was asked of him and led with unwavering integrity. This award is a testament to his exemplary service and leadership.”

ACHCA has been around since 1962 and is a non-profit professional membership association that provides education programming, networking, and career development opportunities for its members. Phil was recently reelected to serve on the board of the ACHCA board of directors last year.

Phil played a pivotal role in a committee of 10 members tasked with evaluating and selecting a management structure for the ACHCA. He leveraged his extensive network to gather information and proposals, ultimately guiding the committee in vetting potential management companies. His exceptional dedication and thorough approach earned the admiration of his peers and led to a unanimous Board of Directors’ vote in favor of his recommendations.

“Serving on the ACHCA Board of Directors has been an incredible honor and receiving this prestigious award is truly humbling,” said Phi. “Our accomplishments over the past year have been the result of a dedicated team effort. I am excited to continue our important work and lead ACHCA forward.”

Originally from Lewiston, Phil earned his degree at the University of Maine Orono graduating with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. He went to Husson University, with a concentration in healthcare management.  Among other national, regional, and local commitments, Jean is currently serving a 3-year board term at ACHCA.
