Piper Shores CEO Appointed to Vice Chair of MHCA Board of Directors

Piper Shores CEO Philip Jean has been appointed to a two-year term as Vice Chair of the Maine Health Care Association (MHCA) Board of Directors. The MHCA is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to advancing the quality of long-term care in Maine by providing resources, support, and advocacy for Maine’s healthcare facilities and their leaders.  

“I’m honored to step into this role with the Maine Health Care Association,” said Philip Jean. “Supporting Maine’s older population and the dedicated professionals who care for them is a mission I hold close to heart. I look forward to collaborating with MHCA’s leadership to strengthen the resources and advocacy needed to ensure exceptional care across our state.”

Jean brings over 25 years of experience in healthcare and senior living administration to his leadership position. A licensed nursing home administrator since 1996, he is both certified and a fellow of the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA). Throughout his career, Jean has been active in a range of professional organizations, serving on multiple local, state, and national boards. He is also a subject matter expert and exam writer for the National Association of Long-Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB), contributing to the development of certification standards for long-term care administrators nationwide.

Jean’s leadership at Piper Shores and his engagement with the MHCA reflect his commitment to fostering quality, innovation, and accessibility in healthcare for Maine’s older adults. Originally from Lewiston, Maine, Jean holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine and completed advanced studies at Husson University, focusing on healthcare management.
