This past September, Piper Shores was pleased to sponsor the Scarborough Land Trust’s 4th annual fundraising dinner to benefit Broadturn Farm, the Trust’s largest, signature property.
The annual Fresh from the Farm dinner raised $20,000, which will help pay for a new roof for the English barn, where receptions at the farm are held and where the farm’s Summer Farm Camp takes place.
Broadturn Farm plays an important role culturally and economically in the community of Greater Scarborough and beyond, providing twenty jobs and offering residents a wide variety of organic vegetables, meats and decorative field grown flowers, as well as farm weddings and barn rentals.
The 434-acre property is a shining example of the Scarborough Land Trust’s goal to connect people to property and show what is possible when land is conserved.
The Fresh from the Farm dinner is prepared by local chef Leslie Oster of Aurora Provisions, with support from a small army of volunteers.
